Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan gained another accolade on Saturday at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland when he was awarded the esteemed Pardo alla Carriera, also referred to as the Career Leopard. As always, SRK made the audience laugh with his comment, “For those who don’t know me, leave, google me, and then come back.” Although it went without saying that everyone knew who he was, the King of Bollywood kindly identified himself by saying, “My name is Shah Rukh Khan.” I work largely in Hindi films in India.
Never one to pass up a viral opportunity, Google India reacted to SRK’s joke on X (formerly Twitter) right away. They crowned the famous person with an emoji and tagged him in it, paying homage to the persona known worldwide as King Khan. What Google India said was as follows:
One of the most renowned film festivals worldwide, the Locarno Film Festival is especially well-known for its emphasis on auteur film. Since its founding in 1946, it has served as a haven for movie enthusiasts. The 77th edition this year had an amazing selection of 225 pictures, including 15 debut features and 104 world premieres—a true cinematic feast for fans of the medium.
As if the excitement surrounding SRK wasn’t enough, he revealed a huge tease about his upcoming film. In the appropriately named King, which is helmed by none other than Sujoy Ghosh, the King of Bollywood is about to establish his supremacy. Following the conclusion of Jawan and Dunki last year, SRK disclosed that he thought it was time to try something new, something more “age-centric.” He revealed that he has been working on this movie for more than seven years as a passion project. He presented the idea to Sujoy Ghosh during a casual talk in his office. Sujoy’s first reaction, right? “I have a subject, sir.”
Fans of Shah Rukh Khan, who last saw him in Dunki directed by Rajkumar Hirani, are excited for him to be back on the big screen. Not to mention his huge smashes from the previous year, Jawan and Pathaan. The magic surrounding Shah Rukh Khan is only beginning, as King is soon to be released.
